This delightful Victorian cottage, restored with style and flair makes it an exceptionally welcoming and comfortable place to stay. Sleeping 6/8 guests in 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms, overlooking old parkland and set in a secluded, sheltered spot (rather like a Hanzel & Gretel Cottage). The cottage has woodland behind with blue bell woods and miles of walking up to Llangorse and Bwlch Common and beyond.
The cottage is set high on a bank with some stone steps in front leading up to a lovely veranda. Here you can sit out in the evening with a drink or a BBQ and watch the sun go down, the sheep grazing peacefully in the fields and the birds swooping over the old parkland with its beautiful specimen trees and old tennis courts. The cottage which was once part of The Buckland Hall Estate has been very beautifully renovated with wooden floors, lovely carpets, luxurious beds and good quality fabrics and furnishings. From the cottage there are walks through the forestry tracks up to Buckland Hill and then on to Llangorse Mountain, all part of The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains National Park.

There is a spacious kitchen with a walk-in larder for cold storage, and a utility room with a large fridge and a freezer, microwave, washing machine and a tumble dryer. The kitchen has recently been renovated to a lovely light contemporary place to work with a Rangemaster double electric cooker and a five ring hob, dishwasher, ample work and storage space. The living area has a dining table and chairs, sofa and chairs with views across parkland and The River Usk Valley.
The sitting room is comfortable with a woodburning stove, sofa and chairs and small TV with Freeview & DVD, with a few videos for rainy days.
A spacious entrance hallway with some very interesting and beautiful photographs taken by the owner.
Downstairs Bedroom 1: Bedroom with twin beds (can zip and link to become a double bed).
A downstairs bathroom with a bath with a shower over, handbasin and toilet.
Up a flight of traditional wooden stairs to three bedrooms:
Bedroom 2: The master bedroom with a super king-size bed, with room off containing toilet and handbasin, (but also large enough to take travel cot).
Bedroom 3: bunk beds (only suitable for children).
Bedroom 4: a king-sized bed again with gorgeous views across the valley and then there is a small bedroom with a very low door (4") which is a nursery room with two cots.

quick efficient booking by BBHC given that it was last minute. Cottage gorgeous - better and larger than pictures suggested and tastefully decorated and comfy. Thoughtfully equipped with everything one might need. Children's area great fun.
