The village is set on the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal and you can see many narrowboats passing through. There are two pubs and a shop within 300 metres of the cottage, and there is access to the Taff Trail cycle trail and the Brecon Beacons National Park from the village. The market town of Brecon is 10.5 miles from here and you can also visit some of the area’s most popular attractions such as Tretower Court and Castle, which is 4 miles away.

An impeccable and traditional stone cottage, this property is bound to impress. The living room has flagstone floors and an original coal-burning oven that is still in working order. The comfy corner sofa is perfect to sink into after a long day of walking while you relax or watch TV. The features don’t stop there, with original beams throughout and a flight of original stone stairs leading to the first floor, which are now used as a feature. There is a dining table and chairs and a kitchen with a oven and hob to prepare food in the more modern way. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor and both bedrooms are upstairs. You can also see the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal and The River Usk from the windows.

The exterior of the property is even more of a winner. The garden is vast and features plenty of trees and plants with benches throughout to sit and enjoy. There is a stone patio area with wooden garden furniture and BBQ so you can enjoy the wildlife while dining alfresco. To one side of the garden edged with a low wall is a steep sloped drop so please supervise any children in the party. The owner of the property rears animals such as chickens and ducks so visitors can pre-order local produce.

A quaint, charming cottage - perfect for a very last minute booking for peace, quiet yet not too far to the town if required. We were two adults two teenagers and two dogs and it was perfect for a short well needed break from the hustle and bustle of home. Absolutely loved it .

We had an absolutely wonderful week at Boat Cottage. It was warm and cozy with everything we needed. The location is perfect for walking the canal, the dogs and we loved it. The sun shining through the Autumn leaves was beautiful. We enjoyed visiting Crickhowell and Brecon as we usually only drive through when taking our caravan to the Welsh coast.Read more Lovely, relaxing stay - thank you! Hide

This was our 2nd stay in Boat Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Lovely place and great garden for our dog. The garden being left to grow a bit higher, where it overlooks the valley, made it more secure for her. Bats, owls, dippers and other wildlife were perfect if you love nature.
