Useful information
Fabulous interior
Beacons Lodge is a superb conversion of an 18th century barn. The arrow slit windows have been retained and vast windows that flood the property with light have replaced the huge barn doors. Heavy oak beams and exposed stone walls all serve to remind you that this very comfortable, modern home has been around for some time. When the weather's fine there is a wonderful, enclosed family-friendly garden with furniture. In the winter months or on a rainy day the fabulous conservatory is a great place from which to admire the panoramic views over the nearby river to the Beacons beyond. Fire up the woodburning stove and get the board games out for a cosy night in with the family.
Ideal for a family get-together
With 2 generous dining areas, each seating 10 people comfortably and with large reception rooms and the family-friendly garden, Beacons Lodge is a great space for larger parties. Guests will appreciate the 3 good bath and shower rooms that serve the 5 bedrooms and the separate utility room is a useful drying space for boots and coats. With so many activities on your doorstep visitors of all ages will be kept busy. Maybe the children would enjoy pony-trekking, canoeing, cycling or trying their luck on the 'challenge course', a fantastic assault course at nearby Llangorse. Others in the party may be keen to try some of the numerous walks, visit the theatre at Brecon, browse the shops or perhaps take a boat down the canal. Whatever you have in mind - it's within easy reach of Beacons Lodge.
Discover Brecon
Why not spend some time in nearby Brecon, just 2 miles away. This market town boasts wonderful Georgian and Jacobean shop fronts and narrow streets hiding a huge selection of one-off boutiques and cafes. Visit on a Tuesday or a Friday to enjoy Brecon at its most bustling when the markets are in full swing. For a quieter time why not pay a visit to Brecon Cathedral, thought to date back from as early as 1094 when the half brother of William the Conqueror established a fortification there. The canal is also well worth a visit and the attractive canal end is a lovely place to sit with an ice-cream and watch the boats and water birds go by.
Brecon 2 miles.
