This Grade II listed 15th century Manor House boasts a wealth of character features including fine oak panelling and an inglenook fireplace and is set in well kept grounds. Get a group together and cycle the Taff Trail from Alexanderstone, or host a family gathering or reunion - the property sleeps 10/12. This unique house also offers full catering and waitressing services making it the perfect place for a party. Brecon is just 3 miles away and the small hamlet of Groesfford has a pub within easy walking distance. For lovers of the outdoors, Alexanderstone is set within a designated protected wildlife area making this property is a wildlife enthusiast's dream.

Superb accommodation

Alexanderstone Manor may be 15th century but it is a really well appointed home. The ground floor houses the kitchen with an electric range cooker, microwave, fridge, storage and work surfaces and a dishwasher. The oak panelled reception room houses a large woodburning stove within an inglenook fireplace and has sofas, chairs, TV and video. The dining room has a long refectory table, chairs and a large Aga for heating and cooking if required. The drawing room features the beautiful oak panelling once again and contains a sofa and chairs, TV, DVD, video and a piano. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with handbasin, toilet, washing machine and tumble dryer. The cellar has a freezer.

A fine flight of ancient oak stairs leads up to the four bedrooms on the first floor:

  • Bedroom 1, The Master bedroom has a large double bed, and en suite with shower, handbasin, bidet and toilet.
  • Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are all twin rooms, one of which has an en suite.
  • There is also a very large separate bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet.
  • Bedroom 5, a further flight of stairs leads to an attic room that encompasses the whole of the 3rd floor. It houses 4 single beds and has a bathroom with a bath and shower over, toilet and handbasin.

    With an Aga at the heart of the home and incredible dark oak panelling in a number of the reception rooms, Alexanderstone Manor combines 15th century Manor House grandeur with all the home comforts you could wish for. The main reception room features a wonderful stone inglenook fireplace with a substantial oak beam as its lintel, a woodburning stove now occupies the fireplace and makes a cosy area in which to curl up with a book or to sit after diner.

    Alexanderstone Manor sits within a SSSI so there is a wealth of rare wildlife and fauna to be found nearby. In season orchids abound along the grass verges of the lanes; a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages.

    Numerous outdoor activities and places to visit

    Located just 3 miles from Brecon, Alexanderstone Manor is excellently placed to offer a huge number of outdoor activities all based locally. Walk straight from the house onto the glorious Brecon Beacons. There is also fantastic cycling as the property is on the Taff Trail providing 55 miles of largely traffic-free roads, paths and canal towpaths. Pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, fishing and more advanced riding can all be arranged locally. For those looking for a quieter stay there are numerous shops in Brecon as well as a cinema and some great pubs and restaurants. Even closer to home, the small hamlet of Groesfford has a small pub just 1.5 miles away.
